VOLUNTARY Water Rationing
January 11, 2012 (updated)
To: ALL CUSTOMERS SERVICED BY CLEAR LAKE CITY WATER AUTHORITY
Effective January 11, 2012 the City of Houston lifted the mandatory water restrictions and returned to voluntary water restrictions. CLCWA is following this in accordance with our Drought Contingency Plan and is also returning to voluntary water restrictions. The area is still in a severe drought with long-term predictions from the National Weather Service. The City of Houston stated the mandatory water conservation measures will likely be reinstated again this year. We strongly encourage customers to follow all water conservation measures.
Important Key Points Strongly Encouraged for Voluntary Restrictions:
- Wednesdays and Saturdays – Addresses ending in odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9)
- Thursdays and Sundays – Addresses ending in even numbers (0, 2, 4, 6, 8)
- Tuesdays and Fridays – Common Landscaped areas such as esplanades and medians
- Repair all water leaks within 24 hours of notice.
- Wash down vehicles on designated days. (See above odd/even assigned days).
- Non-essential water use and recreational use of faucets and hoses is discouraged.
Please see CLCWA’s website at www.clcwa.org for the most current updates and a copy of CLCWA’s Drought Contingency Plan. Your help is greatly appreciated. Please report all leaks immediately to Clear Lake City Water Authority at 281-488-1164 (24/7).
SPECIAL NOTICE: Harris County WCID #156 has adopted CLCWA's Drought Contingency Plan.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Utility Usage History
Per the mandate of House Bill 3693, all political subdivisions that are responsible for paying electric, water or natural gas utility services must:
1. Record in an electronic repository the political subdivision's metered amount of electricity, water or natural gas consumed; and the aggregate costs for those utility services.
2. Report the same information on a publicly accessible internet website with an interface designed for ease of navigation.
The Utility Usage History (Adobe Reader 6.0 or higher required.) information provided satisfies the requirements of House Bill 3693 by reporting the usage and cost information by month for electricity and natural gas consumption. Adobe Reader 6.0 or higher required. If you have any questions, please contact the Administration Department at 281-488-1164.
